MISSION STATEMENT: Quilts for Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming fabrics into patchwork quilts to comfort children facing serious illness, trauma, abuse and natural disasters.

Have you been wanting to learn a new technique? Here is your opportunity! Landscape appliqué with fabric is a quilting and textile art technique where you create a “picture” or scenic design using pieces of fabric layered onto a background fabric. Instead of making traditional quilt blocks, you build an image much like painting — but with fabric instead of paint. This is a two session class with Linn Veen. Reserve your seat today!

This class will continue building on the fundamentals of machine piecing and quilting. Students will practice rotary cutting, fabric preparation, accurate seam allowances, pressing techniques, block construction, and helpful tips for improving accuracy throughout the quilting process. Students will gain confidence choosing fabrics, preparing materials, piecing blocks, and quilting by machine while learning techniques that make their quilting journey more successful and enjoyable. Students should be comfortable operating their sewing machine before class begins.

Jelly Roll Rug Class Description Turn your favorite fabric strips into a beautiful, durable rug in this fun and creative Jelly Roll Rug class! Using a pre-cut jelly roll and batting strips, students will learn how to transform simple fabric strips into a stunning coiled rug perfect for kitchens, sewing rooms, entryways, or gifts. This project is addictive, relaxing, and a wonderful way to showcase colorful fabrics and creative combinations. No two rugs are ever alike!
